ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
Join us and support our line of speakers from the comfort of your own home.
7 October 2024 Ivana Ruddock-Lange
Ivana needs no introduction. No doubt she will give one of her amazing talks based on what she has discovered beneath the skin.
9 October 2024 Yogi Sharp
Yogi is a well know farrier studying for a PhD in farriery science. His talk will be about how to recognise a functional hoof and when shoeing might be in the horse's best interest. Not one to be missed. His website is Home | Equine Documentalist (theequinedocumentalist.com)
11 October 2024 Monica Andréewitch
Those of you who attended last year’s conference will remember Monica. Monica studied Veterinary Medicine for three years before leaving to start her family. She later qualified as a Riding Instructor in Germany and an Equine Body Worker in the UK, where she also competed successfully in affiliated dressage and eventing. Monica's next career stop was to represent an Australian horsemanship program in the UK. This was followed by complementing her coaching skills by qualifying as an EFL Coach. She is also a Level 2 student of Equine Touch.
Monica lives in Andalucía where she recently took over a yard and is now running it under the name of “The 3 N’s Horse Care and Livery”. The 3 N’s stand for Non-Negotiable Needs. In her talk Monica will tell us what those needs are and how to go about meeting them.
13 October 2024 Helen Choma
Helen is of course one of our Equine Touch and VHT Practitioners and Instructors. Her talk will be about Homeopathy and more specifically about First Aid Homeopathy for horses.
15 October 2024 Debbie Busby
Debbie is a Registered Clinical Equine Behaviourist, running her successful international Evolution Equine Behaviour consultancy since 2006. Some of you may remember her talk at last year’s conference.
Her talk this time will present an overview of her current PhD research into ‘The Good Life?’, exploring horse and human perceptions of equestrianism in the UK.
Debbie attempts to understand how we can focus on horses as individuals, telling their stories of lived experiences, and how the meanings made by humans in their interactions with horses, may contribute to interspecies construction of a good life. There is growing interest in riders understanding the horse they engage with and how they can provide for the mental and emotional wellbeing of this domesticated species.
At the same time, factors such as emphasis on short-term competition success militate against this concern.
17 October 2024 Nick Hill
Nick is a Natural Hoof Care practitioner. Amongst others he has trained with Jamie Jackson.
Nick’s talk is entitled “Create and Validate”. It is about hoof wear patterns, how to understand about blocks that restrict movement and how to record / monitor progress.
19 October 2024 Ralitsa Grancharova
Ralitsa is a qualified veterinary surgeon specialising in Equine Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine and veterinary neurology from a conventional and TCVM perspective. She is certified in the Balance method of veterinary acupuncture.
Ralitsa’s talk is entitled “To the Point”. It is about assessing a horse via an acupuncture scan based on points. It will include an explanation of the acupuncture scan and what it can diagnose- limitations and proof of effectiveness.
